This research primarily focuses on R&D networks of eleven relocating organizations to the Chungbuk innovation city, applying the social network analysis(SNA) methods. The basic data cover joint research projects at eleven relocating institutes to the Chungbuk innovations city for the three-year periods from 2009 to 2011.
Major findings are as follows: Firstly, the number of total joint research projects were 1,964 during analysis period and 1,964 projects were performed by 814 companies, public institutions and universities. Secondly, now that research companies and public laboratories are maintaining strong R&D networks with relocating institutes, these industries are likely to prosper in Chungbuk innovation city. Thirdly, all most companies, public institutions and universities linked with relocating institutes to the Chunbuk innovation city have been based on Capital region, so functional tie between Captital region and Chungbuk province will be stronger by the Chungbuk innovation city.
