Pulsed laser welding process contains complex physical mechanisms. The multi-physics welding simulation can consider important physical mechanisms for laser welding, such as laser heat source, heat transfer and phase transition. The multi-physics simulation results have verified in many studies by comparison the result to experiment with little differences. In spite of the excellent performance, the multi-physics welding simulation has some limitations in domain size and the required time, because it considered complex thermo-physical mechanisms. The limitations can be solved by the coupling method with the multi-physics welding simulation and mechanical distortion analysis. The mechanical analysis can cover large simulation objects in short time. In this paper, we suggest the coupling method for multiphysics pulsed laser welding simulation and mechanical distortion analysis to achieve high efficiency without damage of reliability.
