This is a Study for criticism about Park Pil-Ju’s the doctrines of Wang Yang-ming. He was the typical positive Confucian scholar of Yi Dan Sang line in the 18th century, which has multiple awareness. He firmly criticized the wide-spread impression that doctrines of Wang Yang-ming.
First of all, Park Pil-Ju criticized that the investigation of things(格物) of Wang Yang-ming is ‘transcendence of study level’ and ‘development of self-discipline’. It is different from the investigation of things(格物), which criticized leaving out inception of procedure and principles. Therefore, it make a mistake the investigation of things(格物) is not able to find the object of study. Also criticized that there is no demarcation between Knowledge(知) and Action(行) in The unity of knowledge and action(知行合一). Park Pil-Ju consisted that both theory and practice should be combined through Knowledge(知) and Action(行). It is also lopsided view of theory, because it adhere to not separating(不離) position about ‘the mind is principle(心卽理)’ In other words, Wang Su-In asserted the ‘limited area’, ‘the mind is principle(心卽理)’ is ‘mind’ makes unification error. This is separated the object. Finally, he also had criticism about innate knowledge (良知). Innate knowledge plays judgement dispute role in every situation, but it is not able to separated from principle of object.
Criticism the doctrines of Wang Yang-ming of Park Pil-Ju intend as checks but also performing adherence to Neo-Confucianism. In the middle of 18th century, this philosophy development intended to solve the various problems through criticism the doctrines of Wang Yang-ming under the rapidly period to latter period Chosun Dynasty.
