The purpose of this research was to analyze the effect of somatosensory input in skiers’ postural control. In this research, 11 college ski athletes participated as test subjects. To test the dependent variables, the experiment was divided into two categories; before the somatosensory input and after the somatosensory input. The experiment was conducted twice using dynamic posturography. The results revealed that balance score was higher in all conditions when there was somatosensory input. Especially, there was statistically significant higher difference at condition 5 and 6. In balance strategy results, as it progressed from condition 1 to condition 6, balance strategy score decreased which we were able to observe the conversion from ankle strategy to hip strategy. However, it was not statistically significant. In the reaction time results, somatosensory input did not show significant effect on overall condition of forward and backward translation. In conclusion, it is shown that somatosensory input has a positive effect on enhancing balance on skiers. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that ski novice use ski pole at ski slope.
