Li Yutang was a world-renowned Writer. He devoted his whole life to the communication between Chinese and Western culture. in particular historical context, the translation status and research of his works shows a different historical trajectory in South Korea compare with China. In South Korea, there were some translation of single works regarding Lin’s works in 1940s, and from the beginning of 1968, many translation and anthologies appeared. There were also abundant appearances of translation versions to his English novels, cultural-studies essay. The boom has be going on for years. It began to show a decreasing trend in recent years. In the South Korea cultural circles, some reviews of Lin were published in newspapers and periodicals before the appearance of Korean translation versions In the general sparking, however, Lin’s works had been located as leisure reading in the Korean cultural market. From the year 2000, Lin’s works has begun to get wide attention. There were many valuable theses and achievements in research of Lin’s thought and Literature works from the various perspectives of liberalism, literature noumenon, philosophy, religion, and translation, etc.
