This study was intended to study what makes the difference in a child’s concept of God. Three-hundred-sixty children, from kindergarten to sixthgrade who attended church, participated. There was a difference in a child’s God concept among groups by church denomination, age, spiritual disciplines, spiritual disciplines within the home, and parental religious affiliation. Age differences regarding a child’s concept of God was a popular theme and reflected former research. The results offer insight for Christian educators and parents in that the content and frequency of spiritual disciplines are significant in a child’s spiritual development. Parental religious affiliation also reveals the Christian parent’s influence on the child’s faith formation.
