The purpose of this study was to examine the awareness of some residents in Chungnam province on climate change in an effort to provide information on how to raise awareness of climate change among residents in this region, how to let them cope with it in person, related policy setting and reform measures. This study was carried out from May 10, 2013 to May 31 by selecting local residents around targeting Local Agenda21 For ChungNam Council (100 people) in Chungnam Province based on convenience sampling. Questionnaire was widely distributed 1080 copies by being made self-development (Cronbach α 0.743). As for 849 copies (78.6%) out of it, ANOVA were performed. It was indicated to be 3.85±0.888 (5 points as the maximum score) as for the score of having recognized climate change, 4.19±0.779 (5 points as the maximum score) as for the score of having recognized seriousness of climate change, 6.79±2.004 (10 points as the maximum score) as for the score of having recognized a cause for climate change, 6.14±1.383 (7 points as the maximum score) as for the score of having recognized the impact of climate change. In the practice of coping with climate change, it was indicated to be the highest in the waste separate collection with 4.08±0.985 (5 points as the maximum score), but to be the lowest in the use of public transportation with 3.21±1.309 (5 points as the maximum score). The score of perception in people who received education related to climate change was indicated to be high in all. Whether they had received education related to climate change or not made significant differences to every area. It indicates the effects of education related to climate change, and the increase and reinforcement of this education are expected to produce great effects. Therefore it is required to offer more education on climate change not only in Chungnam province but across the nation.
