The lateral resisting capacity of modular systems is essential as the building height increases. The dual quantity of beams and columns of entire systems requires cost-effective strategy in construction material for design of lateral resisting systems. To secure diaphragm action additional bracing systems in floors have to be provided. Combination of walls and frames are effective to satisfy strength and serviceability requirements. Possible unit modular systems of wall type consist of vertical studs and bracings for walls and studs in top ceilings and bottom floors. Unit modular systems of frame type consist of main bracing and concrete floors. To reinforce the lateral resistance additional mega bracing systems or concrete walls may be provided. To design efficient connections between unit modular systems is most essential task for construction and performance of modular systems.
