This paper proposes a wide input voltage and load range high efficiency switched capacitor DC-DC converter. The inductor based DC-DC converter has a drawback of low power efficiency at light load, large PCB area and high cost resulted from the usage of inductor. Conventional on-chip switched capacitor DC-DC converter has the features of small size, simple control scheme, but has a drawback low power efficiency at heavy load. These drawbacks were improved by the off-chip capacitor and pulse skipping mode switched capacitor(SC) DC-DC converter. Also proposed SC converter has multiple conversion ratios for wide input voltage range. The proposed converter was fabricated using a 1.8V 0.18μm CMOS process. The load current range of the converter was to 200uA from 80mA. The maximum power efficiency of the converter is 98%.
