The purpose of this research is to attempt to develop a system for testing geotechnical properties of grounds such as moisture conditions(ω), dry density(r<SUB>d</SUB>) and elastic modulus(E) by combining TDR and Bender elements. For developing a system, the research effort has been put on to review the literature of both TDR and Bender elements. By developing the TDR system which will establish the propagation characteristics of soil and boost the quality and reliability of the TDR probe system, this research can actualize and commercialize a TDR probe system that is optimized for domestic ground condition.
