The purpose of this study was performed to analyze and evaluate shoes for korean old ladies to collect basic data and design the old ladies shoe suitable for korean old ladies` physical characteristics. The subjects employed on this study were ten old women aged over 60`s . The shoes tested for this study were four different brands famous for lady`s shoes. The walking motion at moderate speed were measured using a AMTI force platform, 1 high-speed video camera, and a PEDAR insole pressure distribution measurement system. The findings of the study were as follows; 1. Initial achilles tendon angle and intial rearfoot angle were appeared to be similar to that of running shoe during jogging, and intial pronation showed larger in spite of slow walking speed and larger than barefoot walking 2. Total pronation of achilles tendon angle and rearfoot angle concerned about walking speed showed large and it should be required new shoe design for less angle. Take-off achilles angle and rearfoot angle showed no significant difference between shoes. 3. For Fy, Braking force showed that The force range was 0.22-0.29 B.W. and the barefoot condition was the largest and no difference between shoes. Also, Propulsive force showed no difference between shoes at the force range of 0.22-0.23 B.W.. 4. Maximum impact force ranged from 1.32-1.38 B.W. showed the smallest at shoe A and barefoot, and rreaximum ground reaction force ranged from 1.20-1.22 B.W. showed the smallest at the barefoot condition, but there was no difference between shoes. 5. The Maximum impact force loading rate showed that the barefoot condition was the largest and shoe D was the smallest, but there was no significant difference between shoes, and also the maximum ground reaction force loading rate showed no significant difference. 6. The range of total pressure was 642.9-680.2 Pa, and showed some difference between shoes. Regional peak pressure showed that peak pressure of medial region was greater than lateral region, and forefoot region than rearfoot region. The order of regional peak pressure appeared to be forefoot$gt;rearfoot$gt;toe$gt;midfoot, and the time to regional peak pressure was 8-9 ms of rearfoot, 32-35ms of midfoot, 43-47ms of forefoot, thus it had a trend to show more difference as moving the phase of touch in to take-off. 7. The total pressure of each MASK showed the order of 10$gt;M5$gt;M4$gt;M9$gt;M8$gt;M6, and totally forefoot region and rearfoot region were greater than toe region and midfoot region. Also Toe region and forefoot region were smaller at lateral region and midfoot region and rearfoot region were smaller at rredial region when it compared with each region. The total pressure of each MASK showed the order of forefoot$gt;rearfoot$gt;midfoot$gt;toe.
