Architectural Service Industry Promotion Act(ASIP) is not only a building code but the first law of production of architectural design as a industry. Until now, we had various codes related with buildings, which was not point of ‘architectural design production’. The reasons of this condition are the problematic define of architecture under big Korean construction industry. ‘Architecture’ is still remain a part of ‘construction’.
ASIP should be growing more, though it is enacted, it still has lots of problems. ie., relations between each parties in architecture, procurement, contract, invalid standards and codes, misunderstanding of architecture, biased views of architectural works....
All these problems are the task, we should solve for the values of architecture. ASIP is a kind of declaration to start changing architecture. we should pay our best efforts to correct all the conditions surrounding architecture using ASIP.
‘Enacting is just enacting.’ By this enacting, the thinking of architecture is going to global standard and the value of architecture is growing up to users directly. But now, domestic economical condition is not so good, so called, ‘low development era’. However, it is not late, now is the fastest point to correct it, because this correcting means the future of our works and business and the hope of related studying and students.
