Although the government has supported more than 3 trillion won for 10 years, the whole country traditional market sales continue to decline. The market which received government support rise for a while, but stay in a limited and static. What is the reason?
Market access(Parking Area, Arcade, Public Toilet, etc) is still poor and there is no local special features. The aging of merchants is proceeding rapidly and the subject which leads the business continually is vulnerable. It was not a Self-sustaining through service innovation. This characterization support was insufficient for customers to attract because of supporting the support center. There is no seperate supporting program that differentiates hypermarkets.
Korean traditional market has a rich potential of local resources. There is the local-storytelling and character of Place in traditional market. However, many traditional markets don’t use this special features. Traditional market has played a role as a central place of the community for a long time. Not only this fact has a sense of presence but also different facts. We need to explore the traditional market revitalizing regions to utilize local resources in these ways.
Local resource link’ is the word always used as modifier in the government business. However, the word has used too easy. Local resource includes space, life-culture, human resources andexternal support. Utilization of local resources is different from simple maintenance. All local resources are required in conjunction with each other. Input of human resources is an important factor to make a success.
We need looking hard for the hidden resources of each region ‘To find a vision’, and Local resources is a treasure only being linked well. Also, the training to improve the merchant capacity must be in running a long way. Merchant should do the change first to renew, not the ways which we already had done.
