Xu Wei is the most creative artist in Ming Dynasty, his artistic achievements in many areas throughout the poetry creation, drama creation, drama theory, painting, calligraphy and painting theory, calligraphy theory. For hundreds of years the research on Xu Wei is mainly embodied in the art of life, personality characteristics, crazy spirit, philosophy of Wang yangming, poetry painting and calligraphy art achievements. But it has not been discussed deeply to this aspect of Xu Wei’s artistic creation features so far. In this paper, to specific analysis from three aspects, the first part to Xu Wei painting theme as the center, a concrete analysis of the classification method of Xu Wei’s art of painting subject. The second part is the characteristics of the language of art, discusses Xu Wei’s painting techniques in painting characteristics. The third step is the combination of poetry and painting, with the characteristics of book art, reflect the use of calligraphy in painting, and poetry is painting, combination of poetry and painting. This on Xu Wei was particularly outstanding and typical. Therefore the style and creation of Xu Wei was analyzed and interpretated.
