The study attempted to measure sports and recreation attutudes and behavior, and the Ragheb and Beards` Leisure Attitude Scale was used as a tool. The sample size was 149 men and women aged from 18 to 60, who were under their trainning for the 3rd class sports and recreation leaders certificate. Factor anlysis and Spearman correlation coefficients were used to interpret the data. The results did not show the same attutude propensities as was shown in Ragheb and Beards` research, however, 9 factors were extracted by Varimax rotation technique, instead of 3 as was in Ragheb and Beards` study. The 9 factors were named, according to the factor loadings, as `cognition and interests` for factor 1, `participatory` for factor 2, `efficient use of time` for factor 3, `enhancing life quality` for factor 4, `better surroundings` for factor 5, `benefits` for factor 6, `social interaction` for factor 8, and `reducing work time` for factor 9. Of the 9 factors, the factor 1 had the highest Eigen values(11.336) with 31.5% of variances, and the total variances were as high as 62.5%. It means, at least by this study, that the 9 factors respresent how the respondents think and react to sports and recreation in their daily living. But these attutudes(9 factors) could not be grouped in 3(cognitive, affect, and behavioral) as Ragheb and Beard had classified. It could also imply that there are some possibilities of duplication in 36 items in questionaire, although the Spearman correlation coefficients show independency among the 9 factors.
