The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of aerobic exercise according to the polymorphism in the ACE gene of obese children. Obese 30 children over 25% in his body fat volunteered for the this study. After analyzing ACE polymorphism through the blood sample, All subjects have arranged into three groups ; II(7), ID(15), and DD(8). They Were measured variables in the body composition, blood profiles, and fitness before and after aerobic exercise during 5 wks. The results are as follow. After 5 wks body composition variables of obese children changed significantly, but there were not significant differences among three groups of ACE genotypes(P<.05). In the comparison within II, ID, and DD respective, I allele groups showed more positive changes than the I deletion group. Blood profiles and physiological variables of obese children changed significantly in blood glucose, HDL-C, and FVC(P<.05). Even though there were not difference among ACE genotypes, Glucose decreased significantly in the II, ID, DD group, respectively(P<.05). Fitness variables increased significantly in muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility (P<.05). Muscular strength increased higher in the group D allele than the I allele. but muscular endurance higher in the I allele groups. In conclusion, we found that various variables were positively changed in spite of short-term aerobic exercise, and appeared similar results to the previous literatures that studied the effects on the regular exercise according to the characteristics of the ACE polymorphism.
