The purpose of this study was to lay a scientific ground for understanding differences and similarities between address and impact motion in golf driver swing. The subjects were 4 professional golfers and motions were analyzed using a high speed camera. From the results of this study were drawn conclusions as follows. The difference of cocking angle between address and impact was 13˚, and the delayed hitting angle was 63˚. It was found that cocking was delayed in order to maintain the normal swing trajectory. The difference between the back swing angle in address and the down swing angle in impact was slight, and the trajectory of down swing was narrower than the trajectory of back swing and moved slightly forward to the target. This is probably to reduce the shift of the swing axis and inertial moment. The positions of the body center and body parts (hands, head and left knee) were slightly lower, the shaft angle was larger, and the position of the right knee was slightly lower in impact than in address. In addition, compared to address, impact showed horizontal displacement toward the target and the displacement was large in order of right knee>left hip>left knee>left hand>body center>head. Although the hips were opened wide toward the target in impact compared to address, the shoulders were returned almost to their original position in address. In addition, as the difference angle of X-factor was quite large at the top of the back swing, it was believed that the recoiling of the trunk was used appropriately by maximizing the rotation ratio of the shoulders rather than the hips. Compared to address, at the moment of impact, the right shoulder was lowered and the shoulder line and the spine leaned to the right further but the forward gradient of the spine was reduced. Compared to address, on impact, the change of the knee angle was not large but the difference in the right elbow joint angle was considerably large.
