The purpose of this study was to describe the talents and the requirements of security guards that experts in the public security field perceive. To achieve this aims, this study was conducted with interviews of six people, who are police officers and soldiers having more than three years security guard experience. The contents of depth interview for security guard experts was recorded, and categorized and classified. The results are as follows. First, the result showed height, appearance, martial arts and physical strength as the physical requirement of an outstanding security guard. Futhermore, it was emphasized on individual diversity that is fit for a military operation and duty for height and appearance. Also, it was highlighted boldness, agility and sensitive situation judgment through training of martial arts. Second, it was presented judgment, intuition and personal relationship and personality as mental requirements for one. For these, it was emphasized that various experiential knowledge, linguistic & non-linguistic communication skill. Lastly, it showed intelligence, shooting and language as training requirements for the outstanding security guard. Based on the results, universities including department related to security guard and private institutions may need to make up for courses and programs and clarify educational direction so as to build up the above requirements.
