This study purposed to examine the structural relation among horse riding participants` perception, pleasure and satisfaction. Specifically, we determined differences in the perception, pleasure and satisfaction of subjects currently participating in horse riding education according to their background characteristics. At the same time, we tested the multi-dimensional relation among the variables and analyzed the structural relation among the three variables using a structural model. First, in the results of multi variate analysis of variance for the three variables according to the subjects` background characteristics, by gender, men were significantly higher than women in educational satisfaction, social satisfaction and physical satisfaction among the sub-factors of satisfaction. By age, those in their 20s and 30s were significantly higher than those in their 40s in the promotion of sociality and the experience of achievement among the sub-factors of pleasure. When the relation among the three variables were analyzed through multiple regression analysis, the explanatory power of predicting variable perception for criterion variables was 55.0% for physical-psychological factors, 43.3% for the promotion of sociality, and 49.7% for the experience of achievement. In addition, the explanatory power of predicting variable pleasure for criterion variables was 42.8% for educational satisfaction, 53.2% for social satisfaction, 58.2% for psychological satisfaction, 49.4% for physical satisfaction, and 62.0% for environmental satisfaction. Lastly, we performed structural equation modeling in order to see whether the structural relation among the horse riding participants` perception, pleasure and satisfaction was valid, and the results showed that the boundary coefficients among the three variables were significant and the level of goodness-of-fit was acceptable. These results provide useful information for selecting horse riding education programs as well as theoretical grounds applicable in the field of horse riding education, and consequently, are expected to contribute to expanding the horse riding population.
