This purpose of this study is about observing the Korean`s participation and first olympics held in London in 1948. After the independence, it was a golden opportunity for the Chosun to show their colors at the London Olympics. The overseas Korean`s residing in the United States of America did their utmost to make the Korean`s get approval from the International Olympic Committee(IOC) on the 20th of June 1947 so that they could participate in the London Olympic games. Upon acceptance of the entry to the London Olympics the Korean Olympic Committee(KOC) decided to secure the funding and organize a Olympic Supporters Association. In order for the Olympic Supporters Association to have financial support to participate in the Olympics, sponsorship rights were sold, films were released, operetta performances were held, etc. The Korean Olympic Committee had many complications and difficulties to overcome before they could secure a place where they could support their olympic teams and individuals. Korea was ranked 37th out of the 69 participating nations by acquiring 2 bronze medals. As the Korean ranking was so low, especially in the marathon race, opposed to the high hopes of the nation, physical education training became of heightened interest.
