The purpose of this study is to analyze sustainable development strategies for marine sport events using Analytic Hierarchy Process and thus provide fundamental information for developing sustainable marine sport events. In order to accomplish such study purposes, both a survey method and AHP were employed. The survey was conducted with a total of 300 marine sport event participants to investigate levels of sustainability of marine sport events using Tripple Bottom Line(TBL) theory. Based on the findings from the survey, AHP questionnaires were developed to collect information on sustainable development strategies of marine sports. The questionnaires were distributed to a total of 75 experts including 25 professors and researchers, 25 in-dustry and field experts and 25 and 25 public officers in charge of marine sports. As a result, four sustainability variables with 12 specific strategies were analyzed to prioritize using Expert Choice 2000. Accordingly, following findings were derived from AHP analyses. First, economic sustainable strategy was identified the most important sustainability indicator. Second, regional economic activation strategy had higher priority than profit making & marketing strategy and association with related industries. Third, expanding ma-rine sport participants had higher priority than reducing social costs and developing support system. Fourth, establishing professional planning and operating system had higher priority than having cooperative system and evaluation & aid system. Fifth, aligning environment friendly space and facility had higher priority than protect-ing marine environments and developing environment education program. Finally, regional economic activation strategy was the most important sustainable development indicator in current study.
