This study seeks to determine which factors influence women`s decisions in which events to participate in sports for all. 300 women in the D metropolitan city who have been members in sports for all clubs for more than a year were chosen as subjects for the purpose of the study. An open-ended questionnaire was used to obtain data on sports for all event choices. Inductive categori cal analysis was employed in analyzing the data. The following four factors were discovered as a result. The first factor that affects women`s decisions in sports for all events is “physical.” This encompasses subcategories such as physical development (76 responses, 39.6%), maintaining one`s figure (60 responses, 31.3%), and low-intensity exercise (56 responses, 29.1%), constituting 192 responses (39.3%) out of a total of 497. Such results show that when deciding upon the event, women participating in sports for all are most likely to take into consideration physical factors such as health, rehabilitation, and figure. The second factor is “psychological.” This encompasses subcategories such as personal satisfaction (51 responses, 42.5%), fun (43 responses, 35.8%), and curiosity (26 r esponses. 21.7%), constituting 120 responses (24.5%) out of the total. This shows that women participating in sports for all take psychological satisfaction and fun when deciding on events. The media and indirect experience activities are also a significant influence as well. The third factor is “social.” This encompasses subcategories such as personal relationships (42 responses, 42%), social skills (32 responses, 32%), and recommendations (26 responses, 26%), constituting 100 responses (20.5%) out of the total. This demonstrates that women participating in sports choose events based on personal relations or the desire to improve their social skills in addition to physical and psychological factors. The final factor is “environmental.” This encompasses approachability (36 responses, 46.7%), space (32.5%), and affordability (20.8%), constituting 77 responses (15.7%) out of the total. This demonstrates that the sports-environment is disadvantageous for women. As such, we determined that a sports-environment that allows for universal participation regardless of gender, social status or economic ability.
