The design and use of graphical formats in displaying quantitative evidence (i.e., information visualization) has been increasingly expanding across business settings. However, no graphical formats have been utilized in the idea generation process. Jung and colleagues adopted the potentials of information graphics and the result clearly showed that the provision of performance graph had beneficial effects on performance enhancement. In this study, we introduced a new feature in a dot graph and examined its effectiveness on idea generation performance. The results showed no statistical difference between the modified dot graph and the bar graph, indicating that a modified dot graph can be as effective as a bar graph when stimulating performance.
