The purpose or this research was to examine performance of professional volleyball clubs. Based on the human resource and sport management literatures, we examined coach capability, team human resource management, and capabilities on performance of professional clubs in Korean Volleyball Federation (KOVO) for the research period of 2005-2013. Among observations of 58 teams and 981 players, our final panel data sample is comprised of 54 observations of 7 teams. We employed random effect generalized least square (GLS) regression analysis to test research hypotheses. We find support for a predicted positive relationship between coach capability, free agent contracts, trade, and team capabilities on performance of professional volleyball clubs in KOVO. Our research findings can contribute to existing sport management literatures by exploiting comprehensive team-level effects of coach capability, team human resource management, and capabilities on performance of professional volleyball clubs in Korea.
