Insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor (IGF-1R), play a major role in cancer metastasis through activation downstream signaling pathways like a PI3K/AKT signaling. IGF-1R was frequently overexpressed in lung cancer. Characteristic symptom of metastasis was migration, invasion, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). Also, during metastasis, extracellular matrix (ECM) degraded by MMPs.
