The world witnessed the importance of broadband market on people life which is shown by many studies on relation of broadband penetration with GDP and national economies. In the growth path, Viet Nam is surpassing the innovation in telecommunication sector as well as mobile network. Along with the growth of smart phone subscribers and wireless users in all areas of country from urban to rural and remote areas, data on network is increasing rapidly which require Operators and Government Agencies to find out solutions for providing wireless broadband services. A problem appears on how to select a new 4G broadband technology to deploy which suitable with conditions of Vietnam in the future, LTE or Wimax. In this paper, the current states of broadband development in Vietnam are proposed. By case studies from the undesired diffusion of Wibro in Korea and the disappointment of Wimax in Viet Nam and other countries, the factors which need to be considered when selecting of wireless broadband services and technology will be overviewed and synthesized. Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method is applied to verify the evaluations of experts on the decision of deploying new technology for Vietnam in the future. Moreover, some promotions on new broadband plans are proposed.
