    In this study, the integrated starter generator (ISG) motor system which is belt-driven type in hybrid electric vehicles can be vulnerable to thermal issues because it has high output power and is installed close to the engine. We investigated the interior temperature variations of the ISG motor with respect to operating parameters such as operating mode, rotation speed and environment temperature. When the maximum outdoor temperature is 105°C and the rotation speed (motor design point) is 4500 rpm, the coil part of the ISG motor at generating mode increased to the temperature of about 189°C.
