This study examined how the creativity expectations of reference groups(organization, supervisor, and coworker) influence on the employee"s self-expectations for creativity, voice, and employee creativity. And, we investigated the self-expectation for creativity on voice and employee creativity. Also we examined the impact of voice on employee creativity. To test the proposed research model and hypotheses, survey data was collected from 176 employees working in the service companies.
The results of structural equation modeling using LISREL 8.50 indicated that perceived supervisor and perceived coworker expectation for creativity have positive effect on employee"s self-expectation for creativity. Contrary to hypothesis, perceived organizational expectation was not significantly related to employee"s self-expectation for creativity.
Results also showed that self-expectation for creativity was positively associated with voice and employee creativity. Also, we found voice was positively associated with employee creativity. We discussed research implications and suggested future research directions.
