The study aims at an effective and efficient integrated process between designers and engineers in the process of product design through enhancement of utilization of Unigraphics-NX among 3D design process programs. Effectively combining discussions when handling work tasks in the field of design and engineering, at a time when activities of convergence and integration in the specialized field, are emphasized. To this end, the researcher understood kinds and systems of 3D Programs and conducted a comparative analysis of the tool that designers and engineers use. Furthermore, he theoretically considered strong points and functions of Unigraphics-NX through advanced research. Analysis of the process of 12 areas of expertise through present condition consideration and conduction of an interview survey of 12 experts was conducted. The researcher then selected three experts based on initial survey results and conducted an in-depth interview with them. He was able to understand ‘Wants’ and ‘Needs’ of experts and differences between design and engineering fields. Issues identified include problems on unification and individuation of tasks at the process stage and that processes where design and planning work progress separately can change into integrated tasks creating further complications.
