In reliability engineering, theWeibull distribution is one of the most widely used distributions for modelling lifetime data. In order to assess whether the underlying distribution isWeibull, theWeibull plot is widely used. In addition, this plot can also be used for estimating the scale and shape parameters of the two-parameter Weibull distribution.
In this paper, we consider the parameter estimation of the three-parameter Weibull distribution using the sample correlation coecient from the Weibull plot. An illustrative example with a real data set is provided and we also compare the proposed method with several existing methods.
