This paper aims to introduce the Dongailbo Historical Corpus, a modern Korean historical corpus and investigate diachronic usage change of conjunctive adverbs in modern Korean on the basis of the corpus. The Dongailbo Historical Corpus is composed of articles in <Dongailbo> from its first issue in April of 1920 through the issue in December of 2011. The volume of the corpora is about 348 million words, or eojel, (amount to 490 million words in modern text). We first give reasons why the Dongailbo Corpus is important as historical records of modern Korean, and then we analyze the usage change of some most frequent Korean conjunctive adverbs based on the corpus. Some important features of the usage change of conjunctive adverbs are summarized as follows. First, the change of frequency graph for 11 most frequent conjunctive adverbs, which account for 95% of the use of current conjunctive adverbs, shows that their total frequency increased from the 1920s through the 1940s and have been decreasing since the 1950s. Second, among the contrastive/concessive conjunctive adverbs, ``kulena`` has been prominent but in the middle of the 1990s it began to decrease in use while ``hachiman`` began to increase in use. Nowadays, the two words show relatively small difference in their use. Third, among the reason/cause conjunctive adverbs, at the period of around 1945, the use of ``ttalase`` began to rapidly increase while the use of ``kulenikka`` and ``kulemuro`` began to radically decrease. All these changes are due to the changes of semantics of individual words, the influence of foreign words, the tendency toward colloquial style, and in recent years wide use of internet.
