The following research was conducted with the intents of examining the effects of isometric exercise on Peak Torque and the angle of Peak Torque manifestation in relation to degrees.A total of 24 male students from "D. University" located in Kyung-gi Province participated this study. 8 of the 24 participants were subjected to 40° isometric exercise, another 8 to 80° isometric exercise, and the remaining 8 participants were randomly assigned as a control group. A preliminary test, prior to the 12 weeks of isometric exercise, using the CYBEX HUMAX NORMTM(isometric exercise equipment) was also conducted. After being subjected to 12 weeks of isometric exercise, it was found that the group assigned to isometric exercise at 40° showed notable improvement in Peak Torque in the right knee joint as apposed to the 80° group(p< .05). No significant changes were found in the left knees of both groups After completing 12 weeks of isometric exercise at different angles both 40° and 80° groups showed notable improvement in both knees in comparison to their respective control groups(p< .01), but no significant change could be found when comparing the two non-control groups with each other. After carefully examination both groups after 12 weeks of isometric exercise, it has been shown that although both the 40° group and the 80° group showed notable changes in the right knee at the angle of Peak Torque manifestation, none showed any significant difference in the left knee. Therefore it can be concluded that an increase in Peak Torque in the knee joint as well as a change in the angle of Peak Torque manifestation can be achieved after 12 consecutive weeks of isometric exercise.
