The purpose of this study is to analyze Jinbeop-eonhae which is a book on military strategy. The results are as follows; The book was translated by Choe Suk(1636-1698) and was published in 1693. According to the results of philological analysis, Choe Suk was a military commander who is assumed to have used midland dialects. To write the fortis of plosives, ㅅ-sequential consonant clusters were mainly used. ㅂ-sequential consonant clusters handed its phonetic role over to ㅅ-sequential consonant clusters and the double consonantal letter ``ㅆ``. The ``ㄼ`` of a final consonant was considered as coda clusters. It was pronounced as [p] or [lp]. This book used ``buncheol``(the separated spelling: notation of dividing a word into its stem and its ending) generally in substantives and some predicates. But the double spelling is hardly seen. When transcribing native Korean words, we can see t-palatalization or its hyper-correction in word-initial and non word-initial. One of the examples of n-palatalization is ``이□-(raise)`` and we are not able to see the examples of k-palatalization and h-palatalization. (Keimyung University)
