The purpose of this study is to examine VOT and F0 for stop consonants produced by Jeju Korean speakers. VOT and F0 were measured for sequences of word-initial stop followed by the vowel /i/. Results revealed that both VOT and F0 differed significantly by sex, in that female speakers produced significantly longer VOT and higher F0 than male speakers. In addition, there was a 3-way distinction by place of articulation category and laryngeal manner category of stops on VOT. As for F0, both male and female speakers showed a 3-way distinction by sex and laryngeal manner category. However, no interaction by place of articulation on F0 was found. Overall, the results of this study indicated that Jeju Korean speakers made a 3-way distinction for both VOT and F0.
