Urban design guideline is a means to powerfully control the physical environment of city that made it possible to regulate detailed and dimensional part about form, color, and material of individual structure as well as urban systematic dimension like management of land use or setting of use region, and is a substantial and physical plan which can induce rationalization of land use, increase of function, improvement of fine view, and creation of good environment.
With this, this study is aimed at establishing urban design guideline and investigating satisfaction targeting residents of new town development and analyzing what impact the contents of urban design guideline had on resident’s satisfaction really and contributing to suggesting a desirable direction in establishing future urban design guideline. As a result of study, ‘infrastructure and public facility factor’ like park, greens, and square was shown most importantly as a factor which had the biggest impact on resident’s satisfaction among urban design guideline items, and followed by ‘road and traffic factor’, ‘use and density-related factor’, and ‘agreeableness of walk factor’ in order. It is meaningful that this study empirically analyzed the factors influencing resident’s satisfaction, and it will be a message in determining priority of details during urban design guideline in the future.
