Distractions caused by using information technology in vehicles are no longer limited to making phone calls and sending text messages. There are much more products and applications nowadays which can potentially cause distractions. In order to get more knowledge on how these distractions happen and the influence on driving safety, this study investigates behaviors of using information technology in vehicles. Both qualitative and quantitative data will be collected by observation and survey. The research result will have significant meaning for both driving safety and the design of information products used in vehicles.
