Knowledge is generally seen as the most important asset and strategic resource in organizations and since it is considered vital to organizational success it should be managed properly. If organizations have to take advantage on the knowledge they possess, they have to understand how knowledge is created, shared and used within the organization (Ipe, 2003). This article aims to provide a knowledge sharing model of public and private sector and it is designed to look for the factors that promote knowledge sharing in these organizations. In addition, it intends to compare the public and private organization in terms of knowledge sharing. The research model is a revised Technology Acceptance Model and it includes the perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude to share and intention to share constructs. Also, organizational culture was added as an external variable. Structural Equation Modeling was applied to test the research model and all hypotheses were found to be significant. Also, the Multiple-group Structural Equation Modeling was used to test the invariance of causal structure between the two sectors. The results show that there is a significant difference among the paths of the latent variables between public and private sector in knowledge sharing. These paths are Organizational Factor to Perceived Usefulness and Attitude to Intention to Share. In conclusion, several implications can be drawn from this study.
