Minimalism which had grafted practical attributes of Modernism onto a field of design has been used to mean the mode of visual expression in the design as a part of art movement since 1960. Especially, the minimalism design in products mostly seen in simple and neat in form through using basic, geometric elements to accentuate morphological characteristics. The object of this study is to figure out how consumers think and feel about the color of minimalism design by analyzing between the associative color sensitivity images that consumers assume and the color sensitivity images that consumer feel after seeing minimalism designed products. As the result of survey using SD(Semantic Differential) method, it is shown that customers picked grizzled colors as the most suitable color for minimalism design both when they made assumption of minimalism design based on thoughts of it as simple, chic, and casual and when they chose the color after seeing the actual image of product. Although sensitivity adjectives and colors in minimalism design scored high in same field regardless of witnessing actual product, for the associate colors, Vp(very pale) tone was chosen a lot more on the other hand, after they had seen the actual image of product Dgr(dark grayish) tone scored more, which make it possible to consider the wider range of color choice for minimalism product design. As the result of the study, we suggest novel range of color group of minimalism product according to user"s emotional decisions.
