The purpose of this study is to find out the effects of the intensity of crossfit workout and taking BCAA on lactic acid, CPK, LDH, blood pressure, and heart rate. For this, 18 male subjects have been divided into four different groups (50%RM non-intake group, 75%RM non-intake group, 50%RM intake group, 75%RM intake group) and have been instructed to conduct crossfit workout and the research findings are as follows.
1. When it comes to change in lactic acid and CPK, all four groups have shown to have a significant increase in lactic acid and CPK immediately after workout compared to prior to workout, and a significant decrease in 30 minutes of break compared to immediately after workout (p<.05).
2. When it comes to change in LDH, workout intensity 50%RM non-intake group has shown to have a significant increase of LDH immediately after workout, and a significant increase in 30 minutes of break (p<.05). In addition, the level of LDH among those in 75%RM intake group has shown to be significantly higher than that of 50%RM non-intake group (p<.05).
3. When it comes to change in maximum blood pressure, workout intensity 75%RM non-intake group has shown a significant increase immediately after workout compared to prior to workout and a significant decrease in 30 minutes of break compared to immediately after workout (p<.05).
4. When it comes to change in minimum blood pressure, workout intensity 75%RM intake group has shown a significant decrease in 30 minutes of break compared to immediately after workout (p<.05).
5. When it comes to change in heart rate, all four groups have shown to have a significant increase in heart rate immediately after workout compared to prior to workout, and a significant decrease in 30 minutes of break compared to immediately after workout(p<.05).
These result findings indicate there have been no significant changes in lactic acid, CPK, and LDH among blood fatigue elements depending on both workout intensity and intake status but a significant change has been found in LDH prior to workout. The findings present a scientific foundation that taking BCAA without workout make a negative impact on change in LDH. No significant changes have been found either in blood pressure and heart rate depending on workout intensity and intake status.
Further research into various possible scenarios depending on the intensity of crossfit workout and taking BCAA will be able to prove the effects on blood fatigue elements, blood pressure and heart rate in the near future.
