This study aims to identify what kinds of community exist within the local community, the role of each community, and the necessary and sufficient conditions to activate them. By examining all theories related to community with an empirical approach, this study analyzes the community. Through the study, we can conclude the following: (1) Communities within Yufuin can be categorized into 「Traditional Community Model」, 「Anomie Model」, 「Ego Model」, and 「Community Model」, where 「Traditional Community Model」is the main model. (2) It is important that the creation and development of 「Community Model」 is formed through the bonding with 「Traditional Community Model」. (3) Building the imagery sphere of villages is critical. (4) Constant community development is also essential.
