Studying the behaviours of droplets deposited by Electrohydrodynamic (EHD) jet printing becomes important because its unique property which can eject a much smaller volume of droplets than the volume of ejected droplets obtained by other conventional inkjet printing technologies. In this research, the stability of printed line deposited by droplet-on-demand (DoD) Electrohydrodynamics (EHD) jet-printing was investigated using silver nanoparticle ink. By varying the distance of drops, four modes of printed results could be obtained: isolated dot, pair’s dot, line and bulging line. To investigate the mechanism of bulging and drop coalescence phenomena, the effect of droplet volume and the overlapping ratio of drops were investigated in two different substrates, i.e. conductive substrate (Si) and the dielectric substrate (glass) were used. The results of this research can give direction to make high resolution conductive pattern using EHD jet printing in electronic and photonic devices.
