This study was attempted to disclose noise shown widely in Kim, Kirim’s poems and poetics and concretely examined the aspects. Kim, Kirim was interested in not only visual modernity but also auditory modernity in the 1930s. In addition, he accepted aesthetics of noise with long genealogy in modern art history of the west. He also intended to seek musicality of modernism poems, but focused on noise during the process.
Kim, Ki-rim defined that creation of the noise of modern civilization as internal rhythm is modernism poetry. He suggested voice of the crowd directly or expressed noise variously with sounds of modern civilization in poems.
In early poems, Kim, Ki-rim expressed noise of train․ship․plain, noise of radio telegraphy, noise of crowd, etc. He effectively embodied noise of civilization through onomatopoeia, utilization and change of sound, use of fricative and plosive, etc.
In ≪Kisangdo≫, he completed noise symphony showing polyphony of modern long poetry. Meanwhile, he expressed various noises such as noise of civilization, voice of crowd, static, etc. with sound, acoustic and sign. He also expressed asynchronism of modernity with various areas and various noises of the world.
After the liberation, Kim, Ki-rim emphasized the returning of the sound expressing the will to establish new country. Therefore, the voice of poetic speaker expressing the will was outstanding and the sound was weakened in poems. Noise was made as sound of machine, form of monophony.
In Kim, Ki-rim’s literature is significant as the noise prepared an opportunity to expand the poetic area, provided the way to suggest realities of the time the most concretely, prepared an opportunity to secure musicality of modernism poems, made it possible to explore poetic languages in depth, etc.
