This paper presents a study of intuitive abnormal monitoring system that rapidly reacts to dangerous situations by immediately alerting an operator when there is an abnormal state in subsea plant’s operating environment. Sensor data that provides the subsea plant’s operating environment is acquired by sensors while visual data is acquired by CCD camera. The main control unit(MCU) monitors the system in real-time with acquired sensor data and visual data. The monitoring system, which uses camera to monitor any hazard object’s inflow by consecutive monitoring at specific positions, was developed. Also, a sensor simulator that can check the operating environment was applied. The MCU that can visually warn and alarm when there is abnormal situation was developed. Through a hazard object and collapse phenomenon detection experiment with hypothesized subsea environment, this study showed that the operating environment can be monitored, and abnormal situation can be alarmed to the operator if there are any abnormal situation.
