This study is to examine the effects of flipped learning (FL) on university students’ acquisition of collocation and students’ attitude towards FL. To validate the goal of this study, two classes(experimental class, control class) were selected to examine effects of FL. In experimental class, the students were divided into two groups to see effects of students’ competence on acquisition of collocation through FL. Students in experimental class were required to complete watching a pre-online lecture about collocation before each class. In class, the students were asked to check the main points of the pre-online lecture by interacting with peers. Pre-test, post-test, and two surveys were conducted to examine the effects of the FL and improvement of students’ attitude towards the method. This study suggests the needs for active adoption of FL to foster students’ overall competence of English as well as acquisition of collocation.
