This study was to develop a macro-level model for the promotion of a metal printed book called Jikji as the world’s best cultural heritage record. The development was to renew the meaning of Jikji internally and externally and construct a basic direction of the promotion. The study methods were realized focused on literary research.
Results shown through the study are like the next.
First, the promotion of Jikji has been realized centered on Cheongju City(public office) so far. But, effort to implement the public relations strategically is required from cooperating with the government, people, and industry.
Second, via the promotion with textbooks, it should make people acquire the contents of Jikji and have self-esteem and pride since childhood.
Third, in the public relations through mass media, it is necessary to reinforce the promotion via social networks which are greatly developing recently as well as the promotion centered on documentaries and news emphasizing the contents.
Fourth, it is needed to strengthen the public relations focused on adults through strategical alliance and exchange cooperation via civic organizations. The promotion through the interchange with civil groups should be recommended in that it is transmitted directly to other areas or foreigners by adults.
Fifth, it is necessary to prepare active support policies so that general people can naturally promote Jikji with love through matters such as programs to nurture experts of Jikji by lifelong learning programs, course to train guides to publicize Jikji, selection of promotion guides, and long-term support.
