The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of Hanbok, which frequently appears in historical drama, on Hanbok fashion and to find ways to promote it. The research method is to investigate the precedent research and historical dramas and to examine how Hanbok, which often appears in drama, is applied to current Hanbok fashion, focusing on Hanbok pictures collection.
As a r esult of t he research, s ince 2 000, t he historical d rama has b een d eveloped as a fusion drama which reflects modern sense and trend because it creates free costume by imagination and creativity in order to enhance the dramatic effect without the rigorous historical proving of costume. These drama costumes lead to customers’ orders, and the Hanbok industry also accepts these forms. Therefore, the Hanbok photos collection, provided by the Hanbok industry, shows designs of the clothes style which was shown in the drama. Female hanbok changes in material and color, but male hanbok changes significantly in type and shape.
The expected effect is that various styles of Hanbok will spread and Hanbok will maintain its elegance and Hanbok fashion will lead to a unique personality that will make Hanbok a part of fashion.
