The objective of this study is to provide a platform in which entrepreneurs can freely interact, communicate, and engage in networking activities. It aims to explain the relationship between the entrepreneurial social network and the business performance. Establishing the entrepreneurial social network is very important for the survival and growth of companies. Securing resources, exchanging ideas, and advice, mentoring and trust-building have positive impacts on both financial and non-financial performance of companies.
In developed countries such as the US and the UK, there are many different kinds of actively operating social clubs. Main examples include The Battery and The Cuckoo"s nest in the U.S., The Trampery in the UK, The Great Wall Club in China. In addition, through the domestic cases, the study examined the different types of social network of Korean businessmen. Various case studies showed that Korean entrepreneurs’ networking system differs greatly from that of overseas.
Important factors for entrepreneurial social network in Gyeonggi are as follows. First, clear objectives and purposes should be established. Second, proper space and facilities should be obtained. Third, membership types and methods of operation should be coordinated, and fourth the program content should be organized.
