For ceremonial weaponry of King Sunjo and Crown Prince Hyomyeong, used for the royal banquet at the Myeongjeongjeon in 1829 as well as for the costumes for chabi and army for ceremonial weaponry, the findings of examining literature with a focus on “Myeongjeongjeon Jincan-do” from the “Gichuk Jinchan-dobyeong”, “Gichuk Jinchan-uigwe” are as follows: First, King Sunjo used 167 pieces of daega-uijang(大駕儀仗) including gyoryonggi(交龍旗) and duk(纛). For Crown Prince regent Hyomyeong, a total of 93 pieces of ceremonial weaponry were used, which includes 28 pieces of Crown Prince as well as 65 pieces of beopga-uijang(法駕儀仗). The use of part of beopga-uijang for Hyomyeong was in line with his change in status, which was the regency. Second, chabi for ceremonial weaponry for Sunjo was six kinds of positions including ‘geumgun(禁軍)’, ‘gyeomsabok(兼司僕)’, ‘naesi(內侍)’, ‘chunguiwi(忠義衛)’, ‘chungchanwi(忠贊衛)’ and ‘uijanggun(儀仗軍)’. While chabi for ceremonial weaponry for Hyomyeong was four kinds of positions including ‘woorimwi(羽林衛)’, ‘chungchanwi’, ‘chungsunwi(忠順衛)’ and army for ceremonial weaponry. Third, comparing the costumes for chabi who were holding major ceremonial weaponry, those for Sunjo were diverse such as heugdallyeong, yungbok, gunbok, gongbok. While those for Hyomyeong were just simple as there was only gongbok. Sunjo was higher than Hyomyeong in terms of level such as scale of ceremonial weaponry, status of chabi, costume of chabi. Fourth, the gongbok for chabi holding major ceremonial weaponry was composed of the samo for danghagwan, green one-ply gongbok, circular heuggak-dae, and heuk-hwa. Fifth, the costumes of the army for ceremonial weaponry for Sunjo and crown prince regent Hyomyeong were the same. Sixth, the 1829 royal banquet at the Myeongjeongjeon shows that the army for ceremonial weaponry holding royal flags wore blue garment and red hat, and other army for ceremonial weaponry holding other ceremonial weaponry wore red garment and red hat. Both of them wore red cotton belt, blue jebihaengjeon, woonhye in common. In summary, it is expected that the study will contribute to more understanding costumes of chabi and army for ceremonial weaponry for king and Crown Prince regent at a royal banquet.
