Video projectors are economical solutions for large-screen displays; they are employed for entertainment, education, and business presentations. As projectors have become more advanced, their applications have become numerous. Although the quality of projectors has improved recently, there is a fundamental requirement to have a flat screen for the display. In some circumstances, mobile projectors may have to use curved surfaces as a display option. To handle this situation, we propose applying a compensation method using a projector-camera system that senses spatial distortions in the projected images with a camera. The method presented estimates geometric distortions by embedding unobtrusive patterns that can identify distortion. This technique is especially suitable for mobile projectors where projectors and screens move relative to each other.
