The brake system for commercial vehicles is a full-air type pneumatic brake system that uses the air pressure produced by the air compressors of the engine, unlike a brake system for general passenger cars. And the air barake system is applied to medium-sized trucks and buses in the city and intercity. The chamber of the air brake system generates the braking force by using the expansion force of the diaphragm through the compressed air in the chamber and the linear motion of the piston generated by the power spring force. Therefore, it is necessary to predict the durability of the brake chamber for the load conditions that occur during driving with the core parts related to the safety of the vehicle.
In this paper, we tried to predict the cause of breakage and the durability life of the existing product due to the breakage of the vehicle mount of the air brake system during the vehicle test. In order to predict the durability, the acceleration signal obtained from the actual vehicle test was used. And the durability life of the air-brake camber was analytically approached using the durability analysis program FEMFAT. Also, the improvement of the existing product with the mount part is suggested.
